What this helps you do

Start from an arrangement without losing your own project.

When to use it

You want a prepared arrangement or a sample that helps you inspect cameras and characters.

Before you begin

Use the desktop app and check the edition requirement: Basic / Pro. The current published version is shown above. Confirm the selected item and playhead before changing anything. This audit does not verify a physical Windows device.

Step by step

Screenshots: Mac v1.7.0 Follow each step with the real app interface below. Select an image to enlarge the marked area.

  1. Save the current project. Choose a sample on the welcome screen, or reopen the sample selector from More → Sample projects….

  2. For a complete arrangement, open Templates on the left and check the name and permission requirement.

  3. After inserting a template, inspect the added objects, blocking and timing; existing objects remain. Check the whole project after loading a sample. Being able to view an advanced sample does not grant permission to edit all its features in Basic.

  4. Keep a separate saved copy before modifying it. Undo a template insertion in one step; preserve your original backup before loading a sample.

The Multicam action scene now contains simultaneous cameras and a program edit. The examples dialog can be closed. Save your own project before loading an example.

Changes in 1.6.0

The four scene recipes are now built-in Templates. Built-in, saved and packaged templates use Insert: they append to the current project with remapped references and preserve existing objects. Drag the whole arrangement into the viewport to position it using the preview; one Undo removes that insertion. The Scene templates list groups objects by their source package and supports package-wide viewport locking. Old projects without source metadata are not assigned guessed provenance. Sample projects still replace the whole project and are separate from template insertion.

Settings and edit scope

Insertion anchors the floor to authored prop bases, preserving seated actors relative to their seats. Chair collision extents and negative seated foot origins do not lift the whole arrangement. Authored vertical animation remains intact.

Control or conceptMeaning and boundary
Samples and templatesA sample is a practice project; a template is a reusable arrangement.
PermissionsThe complete template library and advanced scene editing follow Pro / active-trial permissions.

Check the result

You can identify the loaded project and restore the previous work when needed.

Troubleshooting and recovery

Do not assume an updated source-only multicamera action sample is included in the current download. Check the version notes.

If the result is unexpected, stop playback, check the selected item and time, and use Undo before making another change. Keep a backup rather than repeatedly overwriting the project.
