What this helps you do

Know what is selected and what an edit will change.

When to use it

You cannot find the selected item’s properties or are unsure whether you are editing the scene or camera framing.

Before you begin

Use the desktop app and check the edition requirement: Basic / Pro. The current published version is shown above. Confirm the selected item and playhead before changing anything. This audit does not verify a physical Windows device.

Step by step

Screenshots: Mac v1.7.0 Follow each step with the real app interface below. Select an image to enlarge the marked area.

  1. Start with the top bar. Its left side contains the project name, New, Open, Save and Undo; Environment, language and delivery are farther right; Properties uses a right-panel icon. The two crops below show these areas.

    • 2Save the complete project

Figure 1c The closeable step-by-step tour highlights one workspace region at a time.
  2. Scene objects on the left adds items by category, and the list below selects existing objects. Templates is a separate tab that inserts into the current project.
    • 1Add an item from a category
Figure 2 Expand an object category and select an item to add. Select existing items in the list below.
    • 1Highlight shows the current selection
Figure 2b The highlighted row is the current selection. Check its name before editing properties.
  3. Edit arranges and inspects space; Camera checks the camera image. The two images below show the different views. A free editing view is not the export framing.
    • 1Edit / Camera views
Figure 3 Use Edit to arrange the scene, and Camera beside it to check framing.
    • 1Camera preview is active
Figure 3b Switch to Camera to check the camera image, separately from the free editing view.
  4. Properties follows the selected item. Check its name first, then expand Position & orientation or another section. Check the playhead and edit scope before changing values.
    • 1Check the object name
Figure 4 Properties identifies the selected item. Check its name before changing anything.
    • 1Position X / Y / Z
Figure 4b Inspect position and rotation in Position & orientation. X, Y and Z are the three axes.
  5. The timeline arranges timing. Find Play/Pause and the current time before inspecting tracks. Keep Auto-key off when you do not need animation.
    • 1Play / Pause
Figure 5 Playback controls, current time and tracks. Position the playhead before editing.

Choose Interface tour beside More and use Next to inspect each module. It switches Objects/Templates as needed and blocks other edits until closed. External AI control also locks editing; rotate/zoom the 3D view or stop AI to take over.

Changes in 1.6.0

The top bar hides Smart workbench and Properties. On the right, sliders, image, cube and warning icons open Properties, References, Assets and Diagnostics; hover for labels. Eight timeline actions use scissors, camera-plus, diamond-plus, dialogue-plus, file-import, headphones, magnet and curve icons. Timeline zoom follows immediately to their right, wrapping by group in narrow windows. Snap and curve buttons retain their active backgrounds.

Changes in 1.7.0

More adds the complete shortcut guide, model marketplace and help. The left catalog is more compact and monitor collapse/dock controls are larger. Viewport dialogue follows actual character height and scene depth occlusion and is excluded from final exports.

Settings and edit scope

Control or conceptMeaning and boundary
SelectionProperties shows the selected object, camera, light or other item. Selecting the wrong item edits the wrong target.
LanguageSwitch Chinese / English in the top bar. Project names and dialogue written by you remain unchanged.

Check the result

You can locate the same workspace regions in both languages and confirm the selection shown in Properties.

Troubleshooting and recovery

Check the actual interface against the 1.6.0 steps on this page.

If the result is unexpected, stop playback, check the selected item and time, and use Undo before making another change. Keep a backup rather than repeatedly overwriting the project.
