What this helps you do

Make the subject and spatial relationships easier to read.

When to use it

The subject is hard to read, the scene is dark, or color and missing-object problems need to be distinguished.

Before you begin

Use the desktop app and check the edition requirement: Basic / Pro. The current published version is shown above. Confirm the selected item and playhead before changing anything. This audit does not verify a physical Windows device.

Step by step

Screenshots: Mac v1.7.0 Follow each step with the real app interface below. Select an image to enlarge the marked area.

  1. Open Environment and inspect base lighting, background and ground before assuming a model is missing.
Figure 1 Time, weather and lighting in Environment settings. Start here when checking overall brightness.
  2. Select a light and adjust its position, aim or intensity in Properties. Inspect the result from the actual camera.
Figure 2 Properties for a selected light. Check position, direction and intensity against the camera image.
  3. Check permissions before applying advanced light presets or animation, and edit light keys on their own track.
Figure 3 Properties for a selected light. Check position, direction and intensity against the camera image.
  4. Verify the selected object before changing its color. Review lighting and occlusion in playback and export, not just the free editing view.

Settings and edit scope

Control or conceptMeaning and boundary
Intensity and directionValues have different meanings for different light types. Use the current panel and rendered feedback.
Material editingThe object material editing panel has been removed; old project materials and colors are preserved.

Check the result

The scene is readable and lighting changes affect the intended light and time.

Troubleshooting and recovery

Previs does not promise final optical depth of field or production lighting. Do not use old screenshots to look for the removed material controls.

If the result is unexpected, stop playback, check the selected item and time, and use Undo before making another change. Keep a backup rather than repeatedly overwriting the project.
