What this helps you do

Check blocking, framing, timing and delivery in one shared scene.

When to use it

You want one small task that connects blocking, cameras, timing and delivery.

Before you begin

Use the desktop app and check the edition requirement: Pro / active trial. The current published version is shown above. Confirm the selected item and playhead before changing anything. This audit does not verify a physical Windows device.

Step by step

Screenshots: Mac v1.7.0 Follow each step with the real app interface below. Select an image to enlarge the marked area.

  1. Save the current project, open the two-person dialogue sample and identify Actor A, Actor B and the main camera.
Figure 1 The actual welcome screen: start with the first-shot guide or choose an example.
  2. Inspect the spatial relationship in Edit view before arranging complex action. Rename the characters if useful.
Figure 2 A loaded two-camera example. Monitors compare camera images; monitoring does not itself change the program.
  3. Review wide framing, individual shots or over-the-shoulder framing in Camera view. Check the foreground character and actual subject.
Figure 3 Subject and composition: check the subject before adjusting shot size, camera angle and screen position.
  4. Arrange one simple action and its timing, then check dialogue or reference audio. For multicamera work, verify the project mode and explicitly take a camera rather than merely previewing it.
Figure 4 Example lines for two actors and their timing. Check dialogue against the action.
  5. Play the full scene, fix occlusion and framing, and save a complete bundle. Export the full previs and any required per-shot materials, then open the actual files.
Figure 5 Choose the delivery purpose first: watch a previs, create production material, or continue editing/back up.

Settings and edit scope

Control or conceptMeaning and boundary
InputUse a reproducible sample and preserve its original copy; avoid using a private project as tutorial material.
OutputA complete editable bundle plus a watchable video, each checked for its purpose.

Check the result

Character positions remain consistent between views, timing is clear, and both the project and video reopen correctly.

Troubleshooting and recovery

This draft still needs released-app recording and an independent beginner walkthrough. It does not claim that every sample or advanced step has passed native acceptance.

If the result is unexpected, stop playback, check the selected item and time, and use Undo before making another change. Keep a backup rather than repeatedly overwriting the project.

Open project → inspect → edit → play → save → reopen → check export
