What this helps you do
Use a few reliable shortcuts while checking where keyboard focus is.
When to use it
You want faster editing but need to understand how focus and selection affect a shortcut.
Before you begin
Use the desktop app and check the edition requirement: Basic / Pro. The current published version is shown above. Confirm the selected item and playhead before changing anything. This audit does not verify a physical Windows device.
Step by step
Screenshots: Mac v1.7.0 Follow each step with the real app interface below. Select an image to enlarge the marked area.
- Click the viewport or a blank timeline area so a shortcut is not typed into a name or dialogue field.

Changes in 1.7.0
The complete shortcut guide in More, the right panel and the question-mark entry share the same localized help. It distinguishes shortcuts, modifiers, drag gestures and desktop-only actions by focus and region. I/O marks loop in/out points. Hold Ctrl/Cmd during snapping drags to enable snapping or Alt to bypass it. Check input focus before repeating an ineffective key.
Settings and edit scope
| Control or concept | Meaning and boundary |
|---|---|
| W / E / R | Transform tools; they do not automatically key every property. |
| K | Keys the relevant selection and follows advanced-animation permissions. |
| Text focus | Some edit shortcuts are suppressed while typing to prevent accidental edits. |
Check the result
Shortcuts affect the intended region and make playback and edits predictable.
Troubleshooting and recovery
Modifier keys differ between Mac and Windows. Follow the Command/Ctrl hint shown in your interface.
If the result is unexpected, stop playback, check the selected item and time, and use Undo before making another change. Keep a backup rather than repeatedly overwriting the project.
