REFERENCE IMAGES

Keep visual references close to the scene

Separate visual identity from the blocking you are planning.

01

Reference appearance without rebuilding it

Use reference images to communicate character appearance, locations and visual style. The blockout describes spatial relationships; the images describe the intended look.

02

Save the media with the project

Use a complete project package when you need to move between machines or share a project that contains media. A plain JSON file is useful for project data, but should not be assumed to include every referenced media file.

03

Give each reference a clear role

When using an external video model, explain which input controls appearance, which defines composition and which demonstrates movement. Supported reference types differ between services.

  • Use media you have permission to use.
  • Check the destination model’s input and duration limits.
  • References guide generation; they do not guarantee exact matching.
